Since both airports have their pros and cons, we recommend choosing based on flight prices and schedules.
These are inexpensive in Portugal and give you flexibility. The drive from Lisbon is a little longer than from Faro, but the roads from Lisbon are better, so either way it will take you a couple of hours. Be warned that it can take time to get your rental car at the airport and sometimes the agencies are not actually even at the airport, but a shuttle bus ride away.
You can take a train from either Lisbon or Faro and ask our trusty taxi driver to meet you at the train station. The station is called Funcheira and is a little more than half an hour away from your accommodation.
From Lisbon you have the additional option to take the bus, which arrives in the town of Odemira, just a few minutes taxi ride away from your accommodation.
Our trusty taxi driver can come pick you up at either airport. We will help you to contact him when the time comes.
You can find us by using Google Maps, but you have to be careful if you’re arriving from the South, as Google Maps will try to lead you through the river and on very bad dirt roads.
From Lisbon or anywhere in the North: GoogleMaps.
From Faro or anywhere else in the South (unless you want to drive through a river!), please use Waze instead:
