Developing Confidence on the Trail

The Confidence Course is your next step after the Foundation Course — more riding, more independence, and more real-world situations, so you leave with the skills and self-trust to handle whatever the trail throws at you.

Building on What You’ve Learned

You’ve already built the foundation of connection and communication with horses. Now it’s time to take it a step further. The Confidence Course deepens your groundwork and riding skills, helping you handle real situations — traffic, obstacles, tension — with a calm and capable horse.

More Riding, More Adventure

This course is riding-focused: three riding lessons, four trail rides, and three groundwork sessions across the week. You’ll spend more time in the saddle and out on the trails than in the Foundation Course, building the stamina, balance, and confidence that come only from doing.

Riding Skills that Stick

In our arena lessons, you’ll practice the real, unglamorous skills that build lasting confidence: mounting without a mounting block, keeping a balanced seat in all gaits or even a small jump, and losing — then recovering — your stirrups mid-ride. These aren’t tricks; they’re the kind of practical competence that makes you feel truly at home in the saddle.
Obstacles, In and Out of the Arena

Obstacles, In and Out of the Arena

From obstacles you’ll ride over and under in the arena, to steeper, faster trail rides where we build in exercises and obstacles along the way, this course pushes your comfort zone gently but steadily — always at a pace that keeps you and your horse in partnership.

Trail Rides: Raising the Bar

Trail Rides: Raising the Bar

Our trail rides get more adventurous — steeper terrain, faster gaits, and encounters with livestock along the way. You’ll leave each ride with a stronger seat, sharper instincts, and a deeper trust in your own ability to handle the unexpected.
Every trail ride is adapted to where you are in your riding. Still working on canter in the arena? You’ll trot on the trail. Still building your seat at the trot? You’ll walk. This isn’t about holding you back — it’s about making sure you and your horse are always working within a pace that keeps you both safe and building real confidence, one step at a time.

Mastering Stressful Situations

Mastering Stressful Situations

Every horse and rider encounters moments of tension — a trailer that needs loading, a bike or car passing close by, an unexpected spook. In our groundwork sessions, you’ll learn how to recognize and work through these stressful situations calmly, so you and your horse can handle them together as a team.

A Small, Exclusive Group

A Small, Exclusive Group

Because this course goes deeper and moves faster than the Foundation Course, it’s only open to those who’ve already completed the Foundation Course, and we offer it just once or twice a year. That means a small group, close attention from our team, and the chance to grow alongside riders who share your journey.

Take the next step in your journey with horses. The Confidence Course builds on everything you learned in the Foundation Course — and gives you the tools to ride out into the world with a calm, capable partner by your side.
